SPOnG caught up with Vivendi’s World In Conflict development team recently for a chat about what is shaping up to be the PC strategy game of the year.

Indeed, the game is certainly being used by Microsoft to push the whole Games For Windows brand/initiative and, alongside EA’s first person shooter, Crysis, Activision’s Enemy Territory Quake Wars and MMO Age of Conan, it already looks pretty much set to be up there amongst the top PC games of 2007.

So what’s so good about World In Conflict ? Simple. It is a strategy title that looks very much like it will appeal to both hardened RTS fans and new strategy-virgins alike, due to its unique quick-fire 20 minute games and welcoming user interface.

Plus, most importantly, World In Conflict has the best nuclear explosions SPOnG has seen outside of our childhood Cold War nightmares.
